Marvel is a major American entertainment company best known for its comic books, movies, and television shows, particularly those featuring iconic superheroes. It was originally founded as Timely Publications in 1939 by Martin Goodman, before eventually becoming Marvel Comics in the 1960s under the guidance of editor Stan Lee. Marvel revolutionized the comic book industry by introducing characters that were more human, with relatable flaws and personal struggles, unlike the perfect, invincible heroes of the past.
